Have you ever woken up in the morning and wished your life were different in some way?
Have you ever fantasized about living your dream life rather than your uninspiring “real” life?
If you have, believe me . . . you’re not alone.
But if you’re like most people, you probably figure it’s just a fantasy. You might daydream about it for a few minutes, like you would winning the lotto, and then come back to reality and get on with “real life” as you know it.
After all, dream lives are meant for other people. For the privileged few.
But maybe you’re one of those people who do believe you can do something extraordinary in your life. Maybe you’re actually working on making it happen right now. Perhaps you’ve even set goals for your life and have a plan in place.
If so, I commend you, there aren’t many people who do.
But either way, let’s face it . . . it’s not always that easy, is it?
I mean, if it were easy, everyone would be living the life of their dreams, wouldn’t they? But as we all know, it just doesn’t work like that. After all, as George Bernard Shaw once said, “Life wasn’t meant to be easy.”
Well you know what? I disagree!!
I believe that life was meant to be easy.
But not “easy” as in, you sit on your butt all day eating Bon Bons and doing nothing while everything gets handed to you on a silver platter. Not that kind of “easy”.
I mean “easy” as in, you enjoy everything you do in your life, and whenever you put your mind to something and work towards it, you’re rewarded with great success.
No stress, no bother.
Why is life such a struggle for most people?
So if that’s how life is supposed to be, why isn’t it that way for most people?
Why is achieving one’s dream life such an unlikely prospect for most?
Well, it’s very simple . . . because they’re doing it wrong.
Yep, all of them!
Let me ask you two quick questions . . .
Do you have a passion, or an interest in your life, or have you ever had one, that you really feel happy and at ease doing? Something that just comes easy to you, so you don’t have to think, or try very hard? Something that just seems to “work” for you, effortlessly?
I’m sure there must be at least one thing you can think of, even if it’s just something small.
Great!! Now, can you think of something in your life that’s the exact opposite? Something you find a real chore to do? Something you have to really work at, and even so that you still can’t do all that well? For a lot of people, including me, working out finances is a bit like that.
As you can see then, there are some things in life that you’re just in tune, or “in sync” with, so they just come naturally to you. They’re “in your blood”, so to speak.
And then there are other things that you just aren’t in sync with. So try as you may, you always seem to struggle with them.
You just don’t “get” them.
Well guess what?
For a lot of people, their whole life is like that!
Everything is a struggle, everything is a chore. And things rarely, if ever, go their way. But not only that, there’s no real passion or fulfillment in their life. There’s nothing about it that really makes them happy.
More often than not, this is what happens when you let life happen to you, rather than creating the life you want. You rely on pure luck that life hopefully takes you down a path that makes you feel happy and fulfilled.
Well, relying on luck isn’t exactly a great strategy for living, is it? Especially when you only live once. You really want to be sure your life takes you in the right direction. But how do you go about creating the life you really want?
Simple . . . you set effective life goals, and you pursue them.
Or so that’s what we’re told!
The unfortunate truth is that many people set life goals and fail to achieve them. Maybe you’ve set goals yourself in the past, but they haven’t worked out.
Why is that?
The life goals myth
Some people would have you believe that if your life goals aren’t working for you, it’s only because you didn’t do it right. You didn’t use the SMART technique, or whatever.
Well, there’s actually a bit more to it than that.
A lot more, in fact.
You see, to create your dream life, setting goals is just a small piece of the puzzle. If all you do is sit down and write out your goals, well sure, it’s better than doing nothing at all, but it still falls a long way short of guaranteeing the life you truly want.
Let me ask you this . . . if you were to write down some goals for me and for my life, how successful do you think they’d be?
Not very, right? Because you know nothing about me, what makes me happy, what I’m looking for from life, and so on. It’s just not possible to set goals for someone you don’t know absolutely everything about.
So then if for some reason you didn’t know absolutely everything about yourself, you’d naturally also expect your goals to be unsuccessful, right?
The $64,000 question is, then, how sure are you that you know everything about yourself and who you are? Every little hidden, buried detail?
I think the answer may shock you.
Because you see, life has the amazing ability to slowly isolate you over time from . . .
It happens to virtually everyone. And that’s precisely why so many people live a life, and even set goals, that are totally “out of sync” with themselves.
Life takes them down a road that they never intended to be on, and were never meant to be on. They’re taken on a ride not of their choosing, warts and all, and all they can do is try to make the most of it.
Doesn’t sound too appealing, does it?
But that’s what a “normal” life is like for most people.
The Story of the Mexican Fisherman
I came across a great little story just the other day that I’d like to share with you.
It’s called The Story of the Mexican Fisherman and it actually illustrates very well the difference between someone who knows who they are and what they want, and someone who’s been confused and distracted by life . . .
An American investment banker was at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large yellow-fin tuna. The American complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them.
The Mexican replied, “Only a little while”.
The American then asked why he didn’t stay out longer and catch more fish. The Mexican said he had enough to support his family’s immediate needs. The American then asked, “But what do you do with the rest of your time?”
The Mexican fisherman said, “I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take siestas with my wife, Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine, and play guitar with my amigos. I have a full and busy life.”
The American scoffed, “I am a Harvard MBA and could help you. You should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds, buy a bigger boat. With the proceeds from the bigger boat, you could buy several boats, eventually you would have a fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman you would sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You would control the product, processing, and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City, then LA and eventually New York City, where you will run your expanding enterprise.”
The Mexican fisherman asked, “But, how long will this all take?”
To which the American replied, “Fifteen to twenty years.”
“But what then?” asked the Mexican.
The American laughed and said, “That’s the best part. When the time is right you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich, you would make millions!”
“Millions? And then what?” asked the Mexican.
The American said, “Then you would retire. You could move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take siestas with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your amigos.”
The new You . . .
Hopefully it’s starting to click as to why so many people have to endure an unfulfilling life.
I mean, they might be happy . . . or perhaps “contented” is a better word, but they’re not ecstatically happy. They’re not bursting with excitement to get out of bed each morning and get into their day. They’re not as happy as a pig in mud, doing exactly what they want and love to be doing each and every day.
But is it even possible to have a life like that . . . if you’re not one of the lucky, “privileged few”?
Let me tell you . . . not only is it possible, it’s the way life is meant to be . . . for you and for everyone!
But it doesn’t just happen. As I said earlier, you need to intentionally create it. And to allow you to do that successfully, I’ve put together an amazing, printable life journal that I call New Me.
Though of course, it’s much more than just a life journal.
For starters, it teaches you the 7 steps to discovering what you’re about, what your life is about and what your true life goals are, and to designing a harmonious lifestyle to achieve those goals through.
As you know by now, that initial process of self-rediscovery is so important, because even worse than not setting goals and just letting life happen to you is setting goals and achieving them, only to find out they’re not what you really wanted.
That would be tragic.
When you reach the level of understanding about yourself that this self-rediscovery gives you, you’ll find that all the choices and decisions in your life suddenly become easy. The right ones just become obvious to you, and they always carry you towards happiness, satisfaction and fulfillment.
There’s no more beating your head against the wall, and no more “two steps forward, one step backwards”.
Life just flows.
But my New Me Life Journal isn’t just a book of interesting, feel-good, but un-actionable theories. It’s packed full of motivation, inspiration, information and exercises to bring your dream life to reality.
It guides you by the hand through each of the 7 steps. Each step comes with one or more exercises for you to work through, to make sure you get the most from it and complete it as effectively as possible. And there’s plenty of working space in the journal for you to conveniently do all your work in.
New Me also provides space inside for you to enter your own random thoughts and notes, so that you have everything relating to your life journey in one place.
It gives you everything you need to design, create and start living the life of your dreams.
Here’s what you’ll be able to achieve with New Me:
The 7-step process to creating the life of your dreams that’s outlined for you in my New Me Life Journal is the result of four years of my own self-education, searching for answers, and trial and error.
Unfortunately for me, it was a long process because I didn’t come across all of this information in just one place. Everywhere I looked, I could only find bits and pieces of the whole puzzle, so acting on the information from any one source always fell short of giving me the clarity and real results I was looking for.
It wasn’t until I was finally able to put it all together into these 7 fundamental and actionable steps that my life changed profoundly.
And it will for you too, if you follow them diligently.
And really, there are no excuses because everything is clearly laid out for you, so you don’t have to go through any of the frustration that I did.
My New Me Life Journal is an 85-page digital e-Book available for instant download. No physical product needs to be shipped. You can read it on your computer or your preferred e-reader as a PDF file, and of course print it out as well.
It’s available for just $29.95 AUD. Aussie dollars, that is. That’s only about US$22 or so. I think it’s incredible value when you consider the amount of time and energy that has gone into putting this life-changing 7 step process together!
You know, being involved in fitness I hear from women daily who are really struggling to lose weight and get into better physical shape. And I know that more often than not, the reason they find it hard to get results actually isn’t connected with food or exercise.
It’s internal. It’s an issue of motivation and of purpose.
Once you find a purpose that you’re passionate about, and that’s in alignment with who you are, you become unstoppable!
And quitting is no longer in your vocabulary.
I know that New Me is going to be life-changing for anyone who’s struggling in any area of their life, not just weight loss and fitness.
